I know how you feel bro. I used to be like that, then I decided to download pirated versions of pretty much anything I could find. I had programs for well over 2000 bucks. However, I decided that being a software whore doesn't make me any better. If I can't do anything with them, they won't make me a better musician.
So I bought a Macbook, got the latest version of GarageBand, downloaded all the Jam Packs for it (guilty for this one) , and started making music with only those. I feel a lot better now, and everything seems to flow easily. I also have a medium-sized MIDI keyboard.
But my question is why don't you download pirated stuff? I know this is awful advice, but with only one to two VSTs (Colossus being a must-have), you can make AMAZING songs. Also, FL is pretty bad-ass, I used to use that before I went all Apple.
From what I hear from your songs, you're a lot better than me, so keep up the good work, and if you ever need anything don't hesitate to tell me.
